Heysham

Heysham is home to two nuclear power stations on the north west coast of England, just south of Morecambe. The area has a good mix of rural and urban landscapes, as well as magnificent views of the Cumbrian Fells across Morecambe Bay. It's close to a number of major cities and towns, with local officers travelling from areas such as Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington, Blackburn, Preston, Blackpool, and Wigan. The nearest city is Lancaster, offering a full range of shopping and leisure facilities and providing access to the M6 and the national motorway network.

With excellent rail links to all areas of the country, you can be in London in just over two and a half hours, and in Edinburgh in just over two hours. With the Lake District and the Yorkshire Moors a short drive away, there's plenty to do in the area. And, of course, you're close to Lancashire’s coastal resorts of Morecambe, Blackpool and Southport. There’s even a four mile promenade that runs from Heysham to Morecambe that's lovely for a stroll or bike ride.

The Heysham site has a perimeter fence of around 2.5km. There are around 300 buildings and a new Police Station is planned. On site we have Authorised Firearms Officers who carry out armed response vehicle and armed foot patrols of the site, as well as counter terrorist patrols.
