The CNC’s work is inextricably linked to national security, so our recruitment process needs to be as rigorous and thorough as possible. The various security and intelligence checks can take a long time to carry out. Combined with the other important steps in the recruitment process, this means that the full process can take up to 12 months to complete.
If your application is unsuccessful at any stage of the process, we will let you know in writing. If this happens, you may be eligible to re-apply after six months.
If your application is successful, your initial training course will last 17 weeks and will be a residential course based at our Constabulary Centre for Learning and Development in Oxfordshire.
Your initial training will be the start of your two-year probationary period. On successful completion of your probationary period, you will be eligible to apply for any available specialist roles.
