The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police force, keeping the nation safe from harm by securing the integrity of civil nuclear material and facilities. Our primary function is the protection of licensed nuclear sites not used wholly or mainly for defence purposes and the safeguarding of nuclear material in transit in the UK and elsewhere.

The facts: You will deliver tactical training, conduct qualification shoots, and carry out classroom-based lessons to keep our Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs) at the top of their game. Whether you are an officer (serving or ex-serving) or police staff, you must have AFO experience, a National Police Firearms Instructor qualification and experience of Firearms training within the UK in the last three years.

As well as supervising the delivery of training packages, you will provide expertise and day-to-day guidance to instructors and deliver feedback to ensure our AFOs are some of the best trained in the country.

A qualified A1 Assessor and National Firearms Instructor, you must have the expertise and communication skills to build on the high standards we are renowned for.
