The CNC welcomes applications from disabled candidates and will make every effort to make reasonable adjustments where possible.

We have a duty of care to applicants to ensure they are fully medically, physically and psychologically fit to discharge the duties of the role for which they have applied, therefore depending on the role, applicants are expected to undergo the relevant elements of a rigorous medical process to determine suitability for employment. Whilst our health requirements vary according to job role, all applicants will be required to complete a medical questionnaire(s).

For the majority of police staff roles, a medical examination will not be required unless any condition requires consideration for reasonable adjustments. Police staff roles which will require a job related medical examination include: Police staff firearms instructor, armourer, kennel assistant, control room operator etc.
